I will now tell you a little about many Towns and villages here in Cornwall, and will start with Hayle. Hayle, with its 3 miles of golden sands, and a quaint little harbour, shops line the main road through the town. Truro, a wonderful city, many shops and a Cathedral, love to shop here whenever I can. St Ives, with its winding lanes and little streets, many holidaymakers has every year come here, Porthmere surfing beach, and Porthminster and Carbis Bay beaches are beautiful.
Carbis Bay is another great hit with tourists, and the Carbis bay railway branch line serves the South West Coast path goes through the village, and not forgetting and it. Lelant, is a great place to park and ride, catch a train from the Saltings railway station to St Ives. St Just, is an ancient settlement with strong mining links throughout its past, and nearby Pendeen which use to work the Geevor tin mine now closed and is now a heritage centre.
Marazion, a great place to visit, with St Michaels Mount just a short walk when the tides out, or you can go by small water taxi, it is claimed to be the oldest town in Britain. I love going to Lands end, passing through St Buryan, and maybe going to Porthcurno as well, almost there but first we go down to Sennen, another great surfing beach, packed also in the summer. Lands end, a breath-taking place, the scenery here is awe inspiring, and a great deal of tourist attractions. In the wider area places of interest are, St Levan, Porthcurno, St Buryan, Sancreed, Paul village, Lamorna Cove.
Now the home of the best Christmas lights in my opinion Mousehole, Mousehole Christmas lights are the best in England in my opinion, we go there every year, and it is truly a remarkable sight. Newlyn, Newlyn also have a great Christmas light event every year, and is also truly magnificent and well worth a visit.
Falmouth is a very nice town with its own working shipyard and docks, there are some great shops here to, and my favourite store there is Trago Mills, this store is one of three, the others are Liskeard trago, and Newton Abbot Trago.
Helston is the home of the Cornish ferry dance held every year, we have a wonderful day here, starting with the many dances in the morning, and of course, a large funfair, and many traders line the streets with their market stalls.
Bodmin was once the county town of Cornwall, and the old prison now a museum is now open to the public.
Bude I once took my family camping there, it was the first time we ever camped, it poured down with rain that night and we had the most uncomfortable night, the town was very nice and the beach there was wonderful. Portreath, yet another popular beach for surfers, once upon a time was a very busy port.
A firm favourite of mine is Newquay, Newquay beaches are a magnet for surfers, many a top international surfing championship is held here, and the town it self hosts many interesting shops for tourists. Padstow, I love peddling my bike to Padstow along the Camel trail, and eating Rick Stein fish and chips when we get there.
